What does this score mean?

ESSA Identification status for schools include Comprehensive, Targeted or met cut score.

• Comprehensive schools are identified for overall performance. These schools score in the lowest 5 percent of Title I schools on the index score for all students and/or their graduation rate is below 66 percent.
• Targeted schools are identified due to subgroup performance. These schools have subgroup(s) performing lower than the lowest 5 percent of Title I schools (all students) on the index score.
• Schools that are identified Comprehensive will not also be identified as Targeted.
• Identified schools that reach the end of their three year support cycle and do not meet exit criteria enter Extended Comprehensive or Extended Targeted status.

What does this mean?

School's that are identified as Comprehensive or Targeted receive 3 years of support in order to improve. The ESSA Support indicates the year of support a school is in based on their original designation.
